I am Selene Pedetta Peccia , interpreter and translator in Rome .
As an ordinary member of the Italian Association of Translators and Interpreters (AITI) , I have always worked in compliance with the confidentiality of client data and information which I become aware of having signed the Association's code of ethics.
Language is a serious thing
Since 2005 I have been a conference interpreter and translator for English and French for important institutional and private clients.
I am currently in Rome but I often travel to other Italian cities and abroad.
Contractor for the Lazio Region - Environment Directorate from 2009 to 2016, I am highly specialized in interpreting steering committees, conferences, financial and technical meetings of European projects for the MED, ENPI CBC-MED, LIFE+, INTERREG programs, as well as always present as a companion to officials and delegations abroad during their missions.

Study experiences
Born in 1984, I obtained a three-year degree with honors from the Higher School for Linguistic Mediators of Ostia in 2005 and two years later, in 2007, a master's degree with honors in conference interpreting for the English and French languages, from UNINT (formerly the Free University of San Pio V) in Rome.

I then enrolled in the Faculty of Law at Sapienza University in Rome the following year, brilliantly passing the fundamental law exams of the two-year period.
Since my high school years, I have deepened my study of languages with long stays abroad and frequent trips around the world, also thanks to my experience as an Alitalia flight attendant in 2006-2007.

I have been working as a full-time freelance translator and conference interpreter since 2003, collaborating with some of the most important translation agencies at national level, as well as with important private and institutional clients. From 2009 to 2016, I was a translator/interpreter consultant and expert in managing European projects for the Lazio Region - Infrastructure, Environment and Housing Policies Directorate.

Graduated in 2013 in International Legal English, Level C1 with merit , British Council Rome.
Since 2014 I have been admitted as an ordinary member of the Italian Association of Translators and Interpreters (AITI ) .
I carry out my professional development with passion and continuity by attending specialist courses and traveling as much as possible.
Interpreting services
SIMULTANEOUS
I translate the speaker in real time, with a difference of a few seconds (décalage), inside a soundproof booth equipped with the necessary technical equipment.
CONSECUTIVE
I take notes during the speaker's speech and then finalize the translation during the breaks.
Chuchotage
I am sitting next to the guest whispering the translation to him.
Type suitable for small groups.
NEGOTIATION
I do short sentence interpretation work.
